Reformation Sunday

The Gospel text from Reformation Sunday came from John 8. Verses 31-32 are:

To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Many take this and apply it to those being confirmed and say that life in the church, in your faith journey does not end with your Affirmation of Baptism; instead, it is the beginning.

But my question is, who else could this text, in relation to Reformation/Affirmation of Baptism, could Jesus be talking to? And how do you see that in this text?

Why God?

In response to this past Sunday's reading from Habbakuk I'd like for us to discuss the following:

Why is it that when horrible things happen to people around us or people around the world we too easily blame God? Why do we ask why?

Who Is Jesus?

Our first blog/discussion question is one that is often thrown around and just as often tossed aside. But I ask you, who is Jesus? Who is Jesus to you?

Welcome!

Welcome to the blogging site for St. John's Youth!

At the start of every week I will be posting a topic/question for us to discuss. Anyone can comment and join in on the conversation! You don't even need to be a member of St. John's to join in on the conversation! The first topic will be posted on Sunday, September 19, so look back for the first conversation!

Many blessings in your day!
